“Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you…”

LET’S TALK

Perhaps you want to become a surgeon, an architect, a nurse, a teacher, a pilot, or a preacher in the near future; no matter what you dream of becoming, it’s not going to happen overnight. For example, if you want to become a surgeon, you’ll have to be instructed over several years on the rudiments and intricacies of the medical field.

Becoming effective in spiritual things is no different. In the same way that a teacher trains his students to be proficient in a subject; God wants you to train those you win to Christ and make them competent in living the God-life. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus said, “…instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you….” (MSG). You may say, “But I’ve not been a Christian that long; I only gave my life to Christ 6 months ago. What can I possibly teach someone else?” You don’t have to wait till you’ve been a Christian for several years before you raise others. From the time you received Christ and started learning God’s Word, you became responsible for someone else who doesn’t know as much as you.

So, take up that divine responsibility today, and begin to train others in the way of the Lord. You’ve already been empowered to do this.

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for empowering me to raise others for you. I thank you for counting me faithful, and putting me into this ministry. I’m making a difference in my sphere of contact, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
