ON THE SAME SEAT!
(You’re Seated Where Christ Sits)
TO THE BIBLE: Colossians 3:1
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.”
LET’S TALK
Jesus is seated at the right hand of God. The Bible doesn’t say, ‘He is seated at the right-hand side of God.’ The word ‘side’ wasn’t included in the statement, but that’s what some people think. The scripture says, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God” (Colossians 3:1).
When you call someone your right-hand man, you don’t mean he’s the man on your right-hand side. Rather, what it means is that he’s the man in whom you’ve vested your authority. It means you’ve given him permission to act for you; he has the power of attorney to act in your name. So, when the Bible says that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, it means God has given Him authority over all creation. Hallelujah!
Guess what? God has “…lifted us up from the grave into glory along with Christ, where we sit with him in the heavenly realms-all because of what Christ Jesus did” (Ephesians 2:6 TLB). We are occupying the same position of authority, with the power of attorney to act in God’s stead. Hallelujah!
