TO THE BIBLE: 2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
LET’S TALK
You’ve got to know what your purpose in life is. Sadly, many don’t get to know what they’ve been called to do. “Is everyone in the world called to do something?” you might ask. In a sense, yes! Everybody is called to fulfill a purpose in this life, but not everyone is called to fulfill a purpose that’s specific to God and His Kingdom.
The phrase “I have finished the race” used by Apostle Paul in the verse above gives the idea that he knew what he was called to do; he knew his divine purpose. He had found out God’s purpose for his being and walked in line with it perfectly. At the tail end of his life, he was bold enough to declare, “I have fought the good fight….”
As Christians, we’ve got the highest calling because God has entrusted His number one job to us, and that is soul winning. You’re not in this world just to fill up space or balance the ecosystem; you’ve been called to fulfill the greatest and most honourable responsibility there could ever be! You’ve been appointed to be a faithful minister of reconciliation; what a high calling! Jesus said in Luke 19:13 (KJV), “…Occupy till I come”; that means preach the Gospel. Do everything you must do to get the Gospel to everyone in your world, because the Master is coming back soon. Be compelled by His love to preach the Gospel with everything you’ve got. Make it your passion!
