To The Bible: Genesis 26:12-13 AMP
“Then Isaac sowed seed in that land and received in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord favored him with blessings. And the man became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and distinguished”
LET’S TALK
The Lord favoured Isaac with blessings, and he became great and gained even more until he became very wealthy and distinguished. This is the kind of life God wants you to have. You’re supposed to make progress in all your endeavours, irrespective of the experiences others around you may have.
The secret to such a life of success and unending prosperity is taking heed to God’s Word and following the instructions of the Holy Spirit. When you study the story in the opening scripture in context, you’ll see that Isaac was about to check out of Gerar because of a severe famine there. But God spoke to him and instructed him to stay in Gerar and sow in the same land. Isaac obeyed, and his obedience paid off. If you want to have a great life like Isaac’s, then make up your mind to live in obedience to God’s instructions.
This means you’ll go wherever He tells you to go, and do whatever He asks you to do. Then, like Isaac, you’ll experience God’s favour in your life and become so great and distinguished among your peers. Others may be experiencing ups-and-downs, but yours will be a different story. If you’d let the Holy Spirit be your Guide, He’d take you in one direction only – upward and forward, and your story would be one of unending progress!
