The word “generation” in the theme scripture is derived from the root-word “gene.” A gene is the basic unit of heredity in a living organism. Genes hold the information that build and maintain an organism’s cells, and pass genetic traits from parent to offspring. They determine the physical, mental, and other characteristics an individual inherits from his parents.
When God describes you as “a chosen generation,” it means you belong to a new class of supermen with divine genetic material! Notice the emphasis on “gene” in the word generation. You have God’s “DNA” in you. No wonder the Bible in Romans 8:37 says we are more than conquerors, meaning your lineage is one of champions and victors. No generational curse, sickness, or disease can work against you, or destroy you, because you’re a new creation. You have new genes that came from your heavenly Father.
God has never made a failure; that He gave birth to you means you’re a success. Sickness, poverty, disease, death, and defeat are not a part of your divine “DNA.” This is the reason Jesus died; to produce a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar people, a holy nation – a new class of being. You belong in that new class, and it’s the superior race of supermen in Christ.
