(Learn To Pray For God’s People Who Are In Prison!)

TO THE BIBLE: Hebrews 13:3 CEV
“Remember the Lord’s people who are in jail and be concerned for them. Don’t forget those who are suffering, but imagine that you are there with them.
LET’S TALK
It’s our responsibility to intercede for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who are being persecuted and imprisoned for preaching the gospel. Some of God’s children today are in prison for preaching the gospel in countries where preaching is outlawed. Some others are in prison because they helped to bring Christian materials into such countries. There are also those who are in prison because they were falsely accused and had no one to stand up for them and plead their case.
You’d be amazed to discover how many people are languishing in prison for offences they knew absolutely nothing about. Nobody may care about them, but God cares and He tells us to “remember them.” Today’s Scripture says, “Remember the Lord’s people who are in jail and be concerned for them. Don’t forget those who are suffering, but imagine that you are there with them.” That means, be genuinely touched by their plight.
Take time always to pray for God’s people who are in prison. God wants us to show concern for them and have a kindred spirit with them, as though we were in their shoes. What better way to express our concern than praying for them! Remember that even though God cares and is touched by their suffering, He can’t do anything about their plight without you, for you’re His outstretched hand. Pray for them! Visit the ones you can; care for them and do everything within your power to help them see a better tomorrow.

Pray
Dear Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters all over the world who may be experiencing persecution and suffering injustice for the sake of the gospel, that you’ll comfort and strengthen them by your Spirit. May your Word rise up in their hearts strong, and keep them in health, with faith for the future you have for them, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
