TO THE BIBLE: Acts 13:46
‘Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.”’
LET’S TALK
When I received the Holy Spirit as a teenager, He brought about an unprecedented transformation in my whole life. Prior to that time, I had kept company with friends who weren’t born again, even though I already was. But the transformation I experienced within me as a result of the infilling of the Holy Spirit was so tangible, and I wanted to live a whole new life. When I thought about my friends, however, I became worried and feared that I may not be able to stand their criticisms. They’d laugh me to scorn, I thought, and I may be tempted to go back to my worldly ways.
So I went to a field nearby, my Bible in hand, and sat on a chair, thinking of what next to do. Not only did I want to chart a new course, I wanted my friends to discover the same life I had found. So I looked up to heaven and prayed: O God, remember my friends. They’re going to laugh at me when I start talking to them about Jesus. But, Father, give me the boldness to face them.
When I got into their midst and began to speak, I was surprised at their responses. I had expected them to jest at me, but they were all very attentive, to my own utter amazement. Before long, I waxed bolder and talked some more, and they nodded soberly in agreement. In the end, I was able to lead all of them to Christ, and I’ve never lacked boldness ever since. If you’d receive the Holy Spirit today, He’ll make you bold if you’ve been timid.

The divine presence of the Holy Spirit in me has made me courageous to walk in the direction of God’s divine purpose for my life. I’m daily inspired to act on His Word and accomplish all that He’s planned for me to accomplish. I have the boldness to face anyone and overcome any adversity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
