Romans 8:11 “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you.”
◀ LET’S TALK
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit; He lives in you with all of His glory and power. 1 Corinthians 6:15 says, “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?…” (NIV). Notice that Paul used the plural noun “bodies,” to refer to each one of us in the body of Christ; your body is “a member of Christ”; not just your spirit! Christ lives in, and uses, your physical body; He rules and functions in your body
This is why later on Paul wrote the same Corinthian Christians, “…What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16 KJV). First, He says, “I will dwell in them,” that means settle down, or make His headquarters in you. This happened when you received the Holy Spirit to live in you.
He then continues: “…and walk in them.” “Walk,” there, is the Greek word “emperipateo,” which means to perambulate: to walk up and down in a supervisory way, as an official assigned to a perimeter would. That official keeps moving up and down that border, to see if there’s been a breach, so he could fix it. The Holy Spirit does this inside you: He perambulates in you, and if anything goes wrong in your physical body, He’ll fix it; and if He needs to renew it, He’ll renew it. Can you see why no sickness, disease, or infirmity should have the power to ravage your physical body? Let Him rule your body.
