TO THE BIBLE: Joshua 1:8 AMP
“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”
LET’S TALK
In Isaiah 46:9-10, God said about Himself: “…I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.’” When Ronald came across this scripture, he wondered, “Since God knows everything that would happen, that means He already knows those who’ll go to heaven and those who won’t. What then is the point of preaching to everyone?”
It’s important for you to understand what the Bible says about the omniscience of God. He knows everything alright, but He’s not “running” our lives as some folks think; He isn’t busy controlling every human being like a robot. God gives you a will of your own, the ability to make decisions for yourself. This means you’re a free moral agent, and you’re ultimately responsible for the choices that you make in life.
Isn’t it remarkable that God would allow you to shape your own destiny? There are people who are forlorn today because they don’t know what tomorrow holds for them, or how they can affect it. But you’re different. You’ve got the power to influence your future, and create the kind of life you want. Get excited today about this awesome privilege.
