TO THE BIBLE: Romans 8:11
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you.”
LET’S TALK
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit; He lives in you in all of His glory and power. In Paul’s first letter to the Corinthian church, he wrote, “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?…” (1 Corinthians 6:15 NIV). Notice that Paul used the plural noun “bodies,” referring to each one of us in the body of Christ. Your body is “a member of Christ,” not just your spirit! Christ lives in and uses your physical body; He rules and functions in your body.
This was why Paul later wrote to the same Corinthian Christians: “…what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16 KJV). First, the Lord says, “I will dwell in them,” that means He’ll settle down or make His headquarters in you. This happened when you received the Holy Spirit to live in you. He then continues: “…and walk in them.” “Walk” here is translated from the Greek word “emperipateo,” which means to perambulate: to walk up and down in a supervisory way, as an official assigned to a perimeter would. That official moves up and down that border to see if there’s been a breach, so he can fix it. The Holy Spirit does the same in you; He perambulates your physical body, and if anything is amiss, He’ll fix it or renew it. This is why no sickness, disease, or infirmity should have the power to ravage your physical body. So stay conscious of the presence of Holy Spirit and what He does in your body.
