(Your Prosperity Is In Your Hands)
TO THE BIBLE: Joshua 1:8
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
LET’S TALK
God wants you to prosper in every area of your life, for He delights in the prosperity of His children (Psalm 35:27). In 3 John 1:2, God expresses His wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. 2 Peter 1:3 shows that He has given you “…all things that pertain to life and godliness….” This means in Christ you’ve come to a rich inheritance, a place of absolute prosperity. When you received Christ, you were automatically catapulted into a glorious realm of prosperity, and became not just an heir of God but a joint-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17).
When you meditate on the scriptures, your spirit becomes so seasoned with the Word that you can’t but think, talk, and live the Word. Through meditation, you’re mingled with the Word as it were. The Bible shows this in Joshua 1:8 as the way to attain the prosperity God ordained for you. So, not only is the Lord interested in your prosperity, He also shows you how to make your way prosperous—by meditating on His Word and observing to do what it says. And this is all-round prosperity—in every aspect of your life.
The Apostle Paul said it as well in 1 Timothy 4:15: “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.” When you meditate on God’s Word, your progress, advancement, prosperity, and success will spread abroad and be evident for all to see. To prosper in all you do—in your family, health, academics, etc—get God’s Word and continually meditate on it.
