Naturally Supernatural!

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (JOHN 3:6)

Jesus Christ didn’t die just for us to remain natural, mortal, vulnerable beings still subject to physical laws that limit us. Through His love sacrifice, we have been transformed from natural men into supernatural beings. Now it’s natural for us to do supernatural things by the power of God’s Spirit residing within us. In fact, it will be absurd and unnatural for a Christian to live an ordinary life. It’s natural that we respond to situations the way God would respond to them.

Our revelation knowledge of who we are in Christ is progressive. The devil takes advantage of our ignorance of this to accuse us when we act contrary to our true nature. He tries to discourage us and give us a sense of guilt. When you realize that your growth in God is progressive, and you’re coming to full understanding of who you are in Him, then you wouldn’t let the devil hold you down with accusations of the mistakes that you’ve made.

However, making progress in your life depends on you. You have to make a conscious effort at growing. You have to make up your mind to discover the depths of the nature of God in you. Realize that what you have received didn’t come cheap even though you received it freely. God had to pay the ultimate price to have you. What you have received came by sacrificing His best – His Son Jesus Christ. So for you to remain in the flesh and live a natural life after receiving the life of Christ is to say that the sacrifice of God was useless and meaningless; that the redemptive work Christ did was incomplete and unfinished. But we know that before He gave up the ghost on the cross, He declared with His last breath, “It is finished!” The redemptive work of God had been completely accomplished. Now man can live the supernatural life, naturally!
