TO THE BIBLE – Luke 6:38 RSV
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.”
LET’S TALK
In the above verse of scripture, Luke 6:38, Jesus said that when you give, it’ll return to you in good measure and running over. In other words, your giving triggers a force that causes others to give to you; it attracts favour to you. On the other hand, the man who doesn’t give will always be in lack and want.
When you read the story of the prodigal son from Luke 15:11-32, you’ll find that he squandered everything his father gave to him, without giving to anyone. Soon, he had to feed swine to survive during the time of famine. The Bible says, “…he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything” (Luke 15:16). The latter portion of the sixteenth verse is so touching! The reason no one gave him anything was that he never gave to anyone else. This is why you can’t afford not to be a giver!
You might think that the principle of giving shouldn’t apply to you, since you’re still young and living with your parents or guardians, and whatever you get would be your allowance from them. You probably figure that you’d come up short if you gave that away, but you should know that it’s impossible for the child of God to come short after giving. The reason is that every time you give to the Lord, God’s principle of prosperity and abundance is activated in your life.
God’s principle for prosperity is giving. If you’ve not been giving as you should, learn to start giving today. The world believes in hoarding and keeping back, whereas God’s principle for prosperity is giving. Therefore, when you give, do so with the consciousness of prosperity, knowing you can never come to lack or lose out.

I’m a giver and my giving makes way for me, for the Bible says the gift of a righteous man makes way for him. Therefore, I can never be in lack and I’m super abundantly supplied, for it is God who supplies all my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.
