GROW AND STRENGTHEN
(Hear The Word And Put Your Faith To Work)

? TO THE BIBLE
Luke 17:5-6 NIV “The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea,” and it will obey you.

⏭ LET”S TALK
The remarkable statement made by the Lord Jesus in this Scripture shows us that we can do a lot even with faith as little as a mustard seed. You can move mountains with your faith, no matter how small you think it is. The Bible says, “For by the grace given to me I bid every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him” (Romans 12:3 RSV). Every Christian has faith, but you must understand that God doesn’t give big faith. He gives you little faith and then you grow your faith.

The moment you were born again, God gave you the exact amount of faith you required to effect any change in your life. It’s your responsibility to increase your faith by hearing the Word; “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Apart from your faith being little, it can also be weak. Therefore, you can’t stop at just increasing it; you need to strengthen it as well. The only way to do this is by putting it to work; that is, acting on the Word of God.

God gave you the same amount of faith he gave everybody. We all have the same faith, but what you do with yours is what matters. Your faith grows as you listen to the Word, but it becomes strengthened as you put it to work. When your faith is tested by the crisis of life, it also becomes strengthened. Whatever your situation is today, you don’t need to cry or beg; rather, talk to the problem. If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, then you can calm the storms of your life.

? Go Deeper:
1 John 5:4;
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Romans 4:18-21
18. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: 19. he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 20. and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

? Pray
Father, I thank you for your Word through which I increase my faith and for the situations I face in life through which my faith is strengthened. I thank you for helping me build a world- overcoming faith so I may prevail in any situation I face, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
