TO THE BIBLE: Galatians 6:10 NIV
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
LET’S TALK
Do you know God rates your relationship with other Christians as very important? That’s why in 2 Peter 1:7-8, He encourages you to add to your faith brotherly kindness, which also means brotherly love. He says as you do this, you become fruitful in the knowledge of Christ. In other words, you grow strong spiritually and become productive in your life when you show love to other Christians.
The Church in the days of the Acts of the Apostles is a good model of the Christian brotherhood. The Bible lets us know that, ‘The whole congregation of believers was united as one—one heart, one mind! They didn’t even claim ownership of their own possessions. No one said, “That’s mine; you can’t have it.” They shared everything’ (Acts 4:32 MSG).
Everyone had the other person’s back; there was no fighting or ill feeling, and that’s the way God desires it should be with you too! The Church of Jesus Christ is one big family and God expects you to love those in it. So, start today to show love to those in the house of God. Place others in high regard above yourself. Don’t judge them or try to outdo them. Speak to them nicely and with courtesy. Don’t address them rudely or be insulting. Learn to be pleasant and grateful at all times. Remember that the love of God has been shed abroad in your heart, so let it flow out of you today.
