TO THE BIBLE: Proverbs 23:26 MSG
“Dear child, I want your full attention; please do what I show you.”
LET’S TALK
Do you want to be successful in life? Then you have to take what I’m about to share with you today seriously. The world is filled with publications including online materials that aren’t good for anything but to be dumped in the trash. Though they appear trendy and alluring to the eye, they contain subtle negative information which grieves God’s Spirit, and causes injury to your spiritual growth and development.
Remember, you’re the product of the information that fills your mind. You won’t be different from the kind of materials you imbibe. Even the choices you make daily reflect the dominant thoughts of your mind; and these thoughts are based on the information you’re exposed to. Don’t give your attention to junk magazines or contrary TV shows, because you can’t afford to be a junkyard.
Some of such materials are published by individuals of low character. You can’t continually read them and expect to be successful in life. And if you’re already experiencing success, but continually give your heart to such materials, your success will be short-lived. So, don’t set your heart on that kind of information. Focus your whole attention on God’s Word, and He’ll make a great success out of you. Always remember what the Word says in Proverbs 3:1-2 NIV: “…do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.”
