(Praying In Other Tongues Helps To Condition Your Spirit)
TO THE BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 14:18 NIV
“I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.”
LET’S TALK
Lots of people pray making requests and telling God what they want, but that’s not all there is about prayer. Somebody said, “I pray in tongues a lot when I want God to do something for me,” that’s the wrong mindset about prayer. It isn’t a way of convincing God to do something. Rather, it’s a time of worship and fellowship with God, and this is where praying in the spirit plays a key role.
Prayer helps condition your spirit to be sensitive to the beautiful realities of God’s Kingdom. You don’t pray so God will do anything for you; He’s already done all that’s necessary and given you all things! Praying in tongues, amongst its other benefits, conditions your spirit to receive these wonderful things from God!
Jesus was always praying, but He never made God do anything for Him through His prayers. He prayed only because of what prayer did to Him. Every time He came down from the mountains after praying, tremendous miracles followed because He had been charged up with the power of God. This is one beautiful reason you ought to pray in other tongues copiously for the conditioning of your spirit! It makes it easy for you to receive God’s instructions concerning spiritual realities.
