ARISE, SHINE!

(Radiate God’s Glory From Within)

TO THE BIBLE: Isaiah 60:1
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”

LET’S TALK
A lot of times, I hear Christians say, “The glory of the Lord is upon me.” This is a powerful declaration, if they truly understood the significance of the statement. Some erroneously think that the glory of God is some bright light shining around them for others to see; while for some, since they can’t see the glory physically, they think it’s not there at all.

The question is: What is the glory of God? What does it mean to say the glory of God is upon you? These are more than mere religious clichés; they’re words of spiritual truth. The glory of the Lord is the aura, honour, splendour, excellence, perfection, and virtue of God. In the Old Testament, it was an outward manifestation, but since Jesus consummated the New Testament, it has come to dwell in your spirit. So when you say the glory of God is upon you, it’s about the perfections, beauty, aura, power and virtues of divinity in your spirit.

The glory is not a halo around your head or a bright glow on your face, even though its manifestations may be seen on your face. The glory of God is actually in your spirit. If you can accept this truth, it will cause you to function in the excellence, beauty, and perfections of God, because you’re one with Him.

Pray
Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of your virtues, excellence and perfection in me. As I continually yield to your Word, my whole life is filled with your glory and my actions, words and lifestyle bring glory to your Name in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.
